November 13th, 2012 at 01:34 am

Good news for the first time ever this month more than half of the pay of our normal monthly mortgage payment went to principal.

October payment = $1218
Interest = $609.45
Principal = $608.55 (it was so close to it last month)

November payment = $1218
Interest = $595.48
Principal = $622.52 (YEAH!!!)

    Good on you for tracking how much of your monthly payment goes to principal and how much each year goes to interest. Unless they itemize tax deductions, most people are unaware of how much interest is paid during the 1st half of the mortgage term.

    I love that tipping point. It is so exciting when it happens.
