COSTCO

August 9th, 2012 at 06:52 am

I’m starting to think about getting a Costco membership again, ours expired 6 months ago. We are running out of things that we stocked up 6 months ago so I think it is time to go there again. It cost $60 p/a for a membership here. We are doing well with our grocery budget this year so I should be able to get the money out from that budget.

Not quite a NSD today because I asked DH to get me some strepsile lollies. I run out last night. They help with my coughing fit that seems to come on at night. I’ve been getting this itchy throat lately (it has been a week now) and they help to numb it.

How much did you spend at COSTCO in the previous 12 month month membership? Can you tag along with a neighbor, friend or relative for a semi annual shopping expedition?

My SIL and I 'share' membership, we each pay 1/2 the membership fee and each have a card as family members. This might bend the rule but it is the only way either of us can justify membership. The quality of meat and fish at Costco is better than our few grocery chains.

I will be getting it for us and for my mum, but I will not be asking my mum for half the money. Her money is very tight.

I think in the past we definitely got our moneys worth. Especially around Christmas/Summer when we get a lot of seafood from there, a lot cheaper and better quality. My main problem is that we only got one costco here in Melbourne and only few in whole of Australia (they have however announced recently that they will be opening another one next year in Melb but on the other side of city)so parking is crazy.
