2008 GOALS

Note: This is not a Debt but it's a Challenge to only spend $20K this year on items that are necessities. SPENT 46.8% so far.

OTHER GOALS:

1.Save $6,000 in Long-term Saving
TTD = (100%+)
Starting another goal: To save another $10K from Apr to Dec.
TTD = $1523.27 (15%)

2.Have $2,000 in Car Fund by the end of the year.
TTD = Done (100%)

3.Fully fund EF, another $1.3K to go.
TTD = Done (100%)

4.Have $850 in the Xmas Fund.
TTD = Done (100%)

5.Put $7,000 into Investment.
TTD = $1,000 (14%)

April $20K Challenge

Here's our April actual numbers:

Overall, we did really well but we over spent on groceries this month. This was mainly due to stocking up on some essentials. Also, entertainment was way over than where it should be and I've got to cut down on my snack consumption.

We are ahead by about $300 or 1.3% as you can see on this graph.

We are going pretty well at the moment but there are some areas that we need to improve. So for May we will try to cut down on entertainment and my allowance budget.

I really like the spending plan for the year idea. I should think about that for next year (this year is too crazy with our first grandchild coming). Great job!

my boyfriend takes snacks to work as well as a salad because sometimes he doesnt have a lot of time to stop for a full break. it was getting expensive because he would either go and buy them in the morning for work, or stock up the grocery trolley when we were shopping with all these prepackaged foods which weren't that great for you and were expensive too. so now every two weeks on sundays after i go to the market, i make a couple of trays (24) of mini quiches with spinach, onion, olives, capsicum, and tomatoe. i also started making him a couple of trays of muffins too, with any leftover fruit. then i just stock them in the freezer and he pulls them out in the morning.

just a (rambling and very long-winded) suggestion for a cure for your consumption of snacks!
